Titanium & Titanium Alloy — Gr.1, Gr.2, Gr.7, Gr.9

Lightweight, fully corrosion-resistant titanium for seawater, chemical and aerospace duty — in plate, tube, bar and fittings with full mill certification.

Titanium offers the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any structural metal and is essentially immune to seawater and most chlorides. Commercially pure grades (Gr.1, Gr.2) give excellent corrosion resistance and formability; Gr.7 adds palladium for enhanced crevice corrosion resistance; Gr.9 (Ti-3Al-2.5V) is a high-strength alloy for tubing. We supply titanium with EN 10204 3.1 certificates and NDT as required.

Q: Why choose titanium over stainless in seawater?
A: Titanium forms a stable passive oxide film and is immune to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion — stainless grades will eventually fail in warm stagnant seawater, titanium will not.
Q: Which grade for heat-exchanger tubing?
A: Gr.2 for general service, Gr.7 where crevice corrosion is a concern, Gr.9 where higher strength allows thinner walls.
Q: Can titanium be welded on site?
A: Yes, with proper inert-gas (Argon) shielding to avoid oxygen contamination of the weld zone. We can advise on procedure.
